1. Add people using the Make Friends Panel on your IMVU.com Start Page, which shows other people’s profile pictures and name.
2. Search online users using People Search option on the website or the 3D Client

You can mouse-drag info panels anywhere around the page, change colors, add images, send and receive messages and gifts, upload images, write a blog, see who visited your page, see who’s online, see your stats, and even show off your music! Stick ‘Em Up! Impress visitors with your Homepage with Stickers! Stickers are small pieces of graphic art that can be placed anywhere on your homepage. They can be animated or transparent cutouts, and can be stacked. The IMVU Catalog has thousands of stickers for you to choose from and you can easily create your own to make your page beautiful, unique, or just weird!

Bubbling Conversation. In IMVU’s 3D Avatar Chat, typing makes chat bubbles appear over your avatar’s head. These chat bubbles automatically resize based on how much you type. You can click on a balloon to copy (ctrl+C) the text, and then paste (ctrl+V) to add text to a bubble. You can even paste in clickable URLs. Also, by clicking on a bubble, you can drag it down to reveal your chat history.

Avatar Actions. You can easily express yourself with hundreds of Avatar Actions in IMVU! There are 2 ways of triggering these: (1) Click on your avatar to open the Actions Menu and select the animation you want to use; (2) Simply type in the name of the action to trigger the animation. So typing LOL, wave, and even breakdance will make your avatar act it out!

Interact in 3D. Shake hands, hug, hello, serenade, and even body slam! Not only can you trigger your Avi’s actions, but you can also interact with the people you chat with. To do so, just click on the OTHER person’s avatar and choose from the hundreds of fun animations. You can also continue to trigger these animations while the first one is still playing.

Emoticons 2.0 If you like emoticons, you are going to love Modicons! Modicons replace your avatar with a 3D model and they can be triggered the same way as your animations: (1) Click on your avatar to bring up the animations menu, and then select the Modicon you would like to play; (2) Simply type in the name of the action and that will trigger the animation. And if you don’t like them, you can also switch them off.
